A house can be big, beautiful, perfect, and then it can also be in a way, that you do not want to leave it. The pretties houses are about people.
We have returned the roof made of hand chipped spruce shingle, small windows, trees and herbs
to the garden to the two hundred years porter’s smelt house. We have preserved
every single corner and place, beamed ceilings, vaults, basement with riverbed flooring.
Slowly, and on tiptoes, from old and new wood, exactly as the house said so. On the ground floor and in the garden, we have placed tiling from hundred years old sandstone and granite. Usually cold stone now attracts us to take our shoes off and start touching ~ the places between old house and new design, between our guests, Between fences.
